(KNSI) - The eventful season for the Icebreakers came to a close Saturday evening after they lost in the first round of the Section 8AA playoffs.

North Wright County had to work for every goal they netted as goaltender Ashlea Arvidson made 28 saves and the rest of the Icebreaker defense was solid as well.

Ultimately, the play at the blue line and the play of their golie, Anna LaRose, is what helped North Wright County against the Icebreakers.

LaRose stopped all 18 shots on goal and showed everyone why North Wright County could be a tough-out in the section playoffs.

Gabbie Ruud (pictured above), Jordann Swingle (top picture, below) and Taylor Mathiasen (bottom photo) continued to fight throughout the game but they could not get on the board for the Icebreakers.

The Icebreakers still had a great season and showed progress throughout the 2018-2019 season by ending with a record of 11 wins and 14 losses.

Many of the team's top point scorers will return next season as their program continues to grow.

North Wright County will now face second-seeded Roseau Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. in Roseau.
