Cathedral Falls To Alexandria

(KNSI) - The Cathedral Crusaders ended their season with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Alexandria Cardinals on Thursday night.
The first period was fast and defensive, and neither team scored before going into the first intermission.
Alexandria's Caleb Strong broke the game open at the start of the second period with a goal.
Late in the second, Alexandria scored again to put them up 2-0.
Seconds before the period ended, Cathedral's Jack Smith put the Crusaders on the board, and it was 2-1 going into the second period.
In the third period, Cathedral's James Anderson tied the game up.
At the end of regulation, the score was tied 2-2.
It was in the second period of overtime when Alexandria's Jack Westlund scored the game winning goal, and send the Cardinals to the state tournament.
Alexandria's Jack Westlund (pictured below) was selected as the All Star Trophy and Awards player of the game.
