(KNSI) - We're still more than two months away from the puck dropping on Hockey Day Minnesota 2018 in St. Cloud, but organizers says the anticipation is really starting to build.
"People are really starting to get fired up for Hockey Day," said Hockey Day Minnesota Chair Brian Schoenborn on with KNSI's Ox in the Afternoon.
He says thousands of tickets have already been sold as the enthusiasm and energy from the community continues to build.
"Everybody is really getting engaged and making it something that will elevate our community permanently."
Schoenborn says they're elevating Hockey Day Minnesota to a new level in St. Cloud and really making it a festival.
"With the entertainment and the Armadillos playing at night, and the music all day long, it's gonna feel like Hockeypalooza."
He says he's received calls from companies all across the Upper Midwest, and as far away as Los Angeles, who want to be involved in the event.
St. Cloud will host the 12th annual celebration of Minnesota hockey on Saturday, January 20th, 2018.
