All-Star Trophy Player Of The Week; Katherine Bell

(KNSI) – In order for a softball team to be competitive each and every year, some of the underclassmen have to perform at a higher level than most would expect.
The above statement is especially true when talking about the St. Cloud Cathedral Softball Team.
With a record of 8-1, the team has received exceptional power from ninth-grader Katherine Bell.
Bell’s four-game stretch against Zimmerman, Pierz, Albany and Foley was enough for her to be named this week’s All-Star Trophy Player of the Week.
During the four games, the rising-star went 7-13 from the plate with a homerun, a triple and three doubles to rack-up eight RBI.
Bell has exceeded even the highest of expectations from head coach Mark Chamernick as he says that he thought she was going to be good but didn’t think the power numbers would be what they are.
With a slugging percentage of .800, an on base percentage of .553 and a batting average of .440, Bell is near the top of the Crusader team in all three categories.
Cathedral and Bell are now coming off a big win against Becker and will now head to Little Falls Wednesday at 2:00 PM to face the Flyers.
Congratulations, Katherine and good luck to you and the Crusader Softball Team the rest of the season and beyond!
