(KNSI) - Not many high school careers finish as well as this week's winner.
St. Cloud Tech’s Jodi Lipp capped-off an incredible high school track career by competing at state in four events.
Although a Minnesota State Championship was not in the books, Lipp finished second in the long-jump, third in the triple-jump and ninth in the 100-meter.
The longest jump in Minnesota State High School History was the only thing standing between Lipp and a championship in the long-jump.
Her jump of 18 feet 10 inches was one of her best ever and most years would have been good enough to take gold.
2018 was the second-straight year Lipp took second in an event at state and her fifth consecutive year competing at state.
In 2017 she finished second in the triple-jump.
In order to make it to state, Jodi was section champion in all four of her events she competed in.
Earlier this season, Lipp broke Tech’s triple-jump record with a jump of 38 feet and 3 inches.
The previous triple-jump record was held by Alise Post for more than 10 years.
Lipp also competed in gymnastics for Tech and was part of their State Championship Team in 2016.
The seven-year varsity star will now take her abilities to the North Dakota State University Track Team in the fall.
Congratulations, Jodi and good luck in your future endeavors!
