Sabres' Tailback Shines in W

GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. (MSC) - In a high school season that has already seen some outstanding performances from area tailbacks, Sartell's Darek Stachowski solidified his name on the list this past weekend. For his efforts in a 38-7 Sabres win, Stachowski earns this week's All-Star Trophy and Awards Player of the Game.

After a scoreless vs quarter on the road, Stachowski started a 21 point Sabres 2nd stanza with a nine yard rushing touchdown. Stachowski then capped the first half with a second score from nine yards out. Up 21-7 at the half Sartell never looked back.

In all, the junior tailback racked up over 176 yards on the ground. He added to his offensive day with two catches for 27 yards. Stachowski and the Sabres are now 2-3 on the season with with a home game against Rocori up next week.
