This week's Metro Sports Commission player of the Week is St. Cloud Apollo hockey's Paul Kenney. Last week, in the span of two games, Kenney nearly notched enough points for three hat-tricks. The junior racked up 8 points in two wins last week for the Eagles.
Kenny scored his first two goals of the week and assisted on two more in an 8-5 non-conference win at Northern Lakes. Fast forward two days and Kenney again pulled the hat-trick plus one, with a pair of goals and two more assists in a 7-3 conference win over Fergus Falls.
The big week spurred Kenney's rise up the team stat chart. The junior is now the assist leader for the Eagles with 26. His 16 goals make him number 2 on the team in overall points.
Apollo is now 9-6 on the season. The two Kenney led wins were part of the Eagles' current 3 game win streak for the Eagles who are currently tied for first in the Central Lakes, with the 2nd most conference wins.
Congratulations Paul Kenny on being the All Star Trophy and Awards Player of the Week!
