ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - In one of the best games in Central Minnesota history, a Tech Tiger put his team on his back when the leading scorer went down.
When the game headed into the first overtime, Tech Junior Jake Martig had 8 points, but that is when he went to work. As the game lasted five overtimes, Tech saw players foul out, including leading scorer Andy Foley, but Martig kept working down low, finishing the game with 21 points.
His defense on the other side of the floor helped slow down the Buffalo attack as both teams did their best to have the ball when the clock went to zeroes. Buffalo came out on top 83-75, but without Martig the game would have never reached instant classic status with five overtimes.
