This week's Metro Sports Commission Player of the Week is St. Cloud Tech boys hockey defenseman Jacob Peterson.
Last fall Peterson, as a tailback for the Tiger football team, put up numbers worth of recognition every week. But a late season injury in football slowed his start to the hockey season. That changed this past week.
In two games Peterson notched three goals and an assist for the Tigers who currently are on top of the Central Lakes Conference at 7-1. Two of Peterson's goals came in a 7-1 conference victory over rival St. Cloud Apollo.
Peterson, a senior, has played all season with tape on his right ankle recovering from a tweaked ankle that resulted from that football injury, a fractured leg late in the season. But Peterson has still managed 11 goals and 10 assists. All while playing defense this year.
Congratulations Jacob Peterson on being the All Star Trophy and Awards Player of the Week!
