1,000 points is a mark all prep basketball players shoot for. For St. Cloud Tech boys basketball player Andy Foley, the goal can be pushed a little further up the scoring chart. With two 20 point games and a 30 point game this past week Foley, just a junior, toped the 1,000 point milestone, and garnered Metro Sports Commission Player of the Week honors.
At the beginning of the week Foley had 977 points. He started by leading the Tigers with 21 points in a loss to Brainerd in their first game of the week. Then, needing just two points for 1,000, Foley blew past the milestone with 35 points to close out the week against Fergus Falls.
Foley closed out the week with another 20 point performance against Sartell, giving him 79 points in three games this past week, over 340 for the season, and 1056 for his career.
The Tigers are just 5-16 this season, but Foley, and the way he can score in bunches, has the Tigers believing they can get a win every single night.
Congratulations Andy Foley on being the All Star Trophy and Awards Player of the Week!
