Back for a fourth season at KNSI with your weekly amateur baseball (Town Team) baseball reports. Including not only game summaries, but upcoming schedules, league standings. Tournament summaries and an occasional special interest feature. The plan is to continue to include: Lakewood League, Central Valley League, Sauk Valley League, Victory League South and Stearns County teams throughout their league playoffs, regional and state tourney games. CENTRAL VALLEY LEAGUE

KIMBALL EXPRESS 11 LUXEMBURG BREWERS 0 (7 Innings) (5/13 @ Luxemburg)

The Express collected 15 hits and played good defense to defeat their Central Valley rivals the Brewers. Zach Dingmann started on the mound for the Express, he threw 6 innings, gave up just 4 hits, and he recorded 6 strikeouts, to earn the win. Andy Dingmann closed it out with one inning of relief, he recorded one strikeout. The Marquardt brothers combined for six hits and five big RBI's. Brooks went 2-4 with a big 3 run home run and he scored a pair of runs. Brian went 2-3 with a double for a RBI and he scored a pair of runs and Scott went 2-5 with a RBI. Zach Sufka had a good game, he went 2-3 with a double for a RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Adam Beyer went 2-5 with a pair of RBI's and Joey Von Wahlde went 1-4 with a pair of RBI's. Ben Johnson went 1-5 with a triple and he scored a run and Austin Ruehle went 1-4, he earned a walk and he scored a run. Kyle Winter went 1-3 and Troy Filzen went 1-1 and he scored a run, Matt Dingmann earned a walk and he scored a pair of runs and Ben Theisen scored a run.

The Brewers were short a couple of their ball players, Sam Iten started on the mound, he threw 6 innings. He gave up 12 hits, 7 runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Casey Underwood threw 1/3 of a inning, he gave up 2 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks and he recorded a strikeout. Luke Harren retired the final two batters of the game, he recorded a strikeout.
Sam Iten went 1-3 with a double and Logan Aleshire went 1-3. Austin Klaverkamp went 1-3 and Ethyn Fruth went 1-2.


KIMBALL EXPRESS 18 EDEN VALLEY HAWKS 4 (5/14 @ Eden Valley)

The Express collected 18 hits including four players with multi hit games, to give their pitchers great support. Ben Johnson started on the mound, he threw 4 innings, he gave up just 2 hits, one walk, one run and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Andy Dingmann threw 1 inning to earn the win, he gave up 3 hits, two runs and he recorded a strikeout. Joey Von Wahlde threw two innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, one run, one walk and he recorded two strikeouts. Matt Dingmann threw two innings of relief, he walked one and he recorded a pair of strikeouts. Kyle Winter had a big game, he went 3-6 with a home run for a total of four RBI's and he scored a pair of runs. Zach Sufka had a big day, he went 3-5 with a pair of home runs for three RBI's, he earned a walk and he scored three runs. Austin Ruehle had a good game, he went 3-6 with a double for four RBI's, had one stolen base and he scored two runs. Matt Dingmann went 3-5 with a walk and he scored a pair of runs and Adam Beyer went 1-2 with a double and two sacrifice flys for 3 RBI's. Scott Marquardt went 1-3 with a double for 2 RBI's, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a pair of runs. Player/manager Tom Marquardt went 1-1 with a RBI and Andy Dingmann went 1-4 and he scored a run. Ben Johnson went 1-6 and he scored a run and Ben Theisen went 1-2 with a walk and he scored a run. Troy Filzen walked and he scored three runs and Joey Von Wahlde was hit by a pitch and he scored a run.

For the Hawks Austin Schlangen started on the mound, he threw 5 innings, he was the pitcher of record. He gave up 8 hits, 9 runs, 3 walks and he recorded one strikeout. Austin Berg threw 4 innings of relief, he gave up 10 hits, 9 runs, 7 walks and he recorded a pair of strikeouts. Alex Geislinger went 2-5 with a double and he scored a pair of runs and Jeff Haag went 3-4 with a two doubles for 3 RBI's. Austin Berg went 1-4 with a double for a RBI, a walk he scored a run and Matt Unteberger went 1-3 and he scored a run.


WATKINS CLIPPERS 8 ST. AUGUSTA GUSSIES 2 (5/14 @ St. Augusta)

The Clippers defeated Central Valley League rivals the Gussies, behind the pitching of two left handers. Player/Manager Matt Geislinger started and he threw 7 innings to earn the win. He gave up just 3 hits, two runs, no walks and he recorded 15 strikeouts.
Veteran Dan Berg threw 2 innings of relief, he gave one hit and he recorded one strikeout. Veteran Gary Peters had a big day, he went 1-4 with a big three run home run. Adam Hiltner 1-2 with a triple, he earned a pair of walks and he scored two runs. Kevin Kramer went 2-6 with a RBI and Dan Berg went 1-4 with double, he walked and he scored a run. Dan Sargent went 1-5 with a RBI, two stolen bases and he scored two runs and Heath Kramer went 1-4 with a RBI. Brendan Ashton went 1-3, with a stolen base, a walk, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Lincoln Haugen went 1-3 and Reese Jansen went 1-3 with a stolen base. Tyler Hebrink went 1-5, Hunter Mathies scored a run and Brain Benson earned a walk.

The Gussies Travis Laudenbach started on the mound, he threw 7 innings, he gave up 9 hits, 8 runs, 4 walks and he recorded 9 strikeouts. Aaron Fruth threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Nate Laudenbach went 1-4 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run. Adam Gwost went 2-4 and he scored a run, Dustin Schulzetenburg went 1-4 and Brady Graft had a sacrifice fly for a RBI.


PEARL LAKE LAKERS 11 ST. NICHOLAS NICKS 6 (5/14 @ St. Nicholas)

The Lakers went 3-0 in Central Valley League play with a big win over the Nicks. The Lakers collected 11 hits including three doubles to give their pitchers great support. Tommy Linn started on the mound for the Lakers, he threw 4 innings to earn the win. Alex Miller threw 3 innings of relief and Chad Kunkel closed it out, throwing 2 innings of relief. Tommy Linn went 2-3 with a pair of RBI's, he walked twice, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a pair of runs. Justin Kunkel went 2-3 with a sacrifice fly for a pair of RBI's and he scored a run, Ryan Wieneke went 1-2 with a double, he walked, was hit by a pitch and he scored two runs. Preston Peglow went 1-2 with a double and he scored a run and Chad Kunkel went 1-3 with a double and he earned a walk. Alex Miller went 1-2 with a RBI and Mitch Wienke went 1-3 with a RBI, he had a sacrifice bunt and he was hit by a pitch. Andy Linn went 1-3 with a RBI and he scored a run and Mitch Kunkel went 1-2 and he scored a run, Derek Garding earned a walk and he scored a run and Steve Krippner was hit by a pitch.

The Nicks Cory Graft was the starter and their pitcher of record, he threw 2 1/3 innings. Jon Hofer threw 4 2/3 innings in relief and Tanner Anderson closed it out for the Nick with 3 innings of relief. Tanner Anderson went 2-3 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI, he walked and he scored a run. Hunter Ahrens went 2-4 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a pair of runs. Brett Hofer went 1-3 with two walks and he scored a run and Andrew Bautch went 1-5. Matt Schindler went 1-5 and he scored a run and Sam Moriarty earned a walk, ws hit by a pitch and he scored a run.

 

LUXEMBURG BREWERS 5 COLD SPRING ROCKIES 3 (5/14 @ Luxemburg)

The Brewers put up a pair of runs in both the 1st and the 2nd innings and they held off the Rockies for a big Central Valley League. Lefty Austin Klaverkamp started on the mound for the Brewers, he threw 6 innings to earn the win. He gave up 5 hits, two runs, one walk and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Matt Ergen threw 3 innings of relief, to earn the save, he gave up 2 hits, one run, one walk and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Sam Iten went 1-2 with a big two run home run and Ethan Fruth went 1-3 with a double and he scored a run. Derrick Orth went 1-2 with a RBI and he earned a pair of walks and Rhett Fruth went 1-4 with a double and he scored a run. Matt Ergen went 1-1 and player/manager Cory Wenz went 1-5 and he scored a run. NIck Baker had a stolen base and Colton Fruth earned a walk.

The Rockies Jordan Neu started on the mound, he threw 7 innings and he was a the pitcher of record. He gave up 6 hits, 5 runs, 2 walks and he recorded 4 strikeouts. David Jonas threw one inning of relief, he issued one walk. David Jonas had a very good game at the plate, he went 3-5 with a home run and a double for two RBI's. Kevin Wenner went 1-4 and he was hit by pitch and Nick Skluzacek went 1-3 and he scored a run. Marshall Wirtzfeld went 1-4, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Jordan Neu had a sacrifice bunt, Trevor Lardy was credited with a RBI by way of a fielders choice and Patrick Hemingson earned a walk.


PEARL LAKE LAKERS 11 EDEN VALLEY HAWKS 1 (7 Innings) (5/7 @ Marty)

The Lakers last weekend defeated the Hawks in a 7 inning game, due to the 10 run rule. Mitch Wieneke started on the mound for the Lakers, he threw 6 innings, to earn the win. Justin Kunkel threw the 7th inning to close it out for the Lakers. Ryan Wieneke had a day to remember, he went 3-4 with a home run for a total of 5 big RBI's and he scored 3 runs. Mitch Wieneke went 2-4 with a double for a RBI and Steve Krippner went 2-3 with a home run. Chad Kunkel went 2-3 with a double and he scored a pair of runs and Tommy Linn went 1-2 with a pair of walks and he scored two runs. Justin Kunkel had a sacrifice fly, Andy Lenmeier was hit by a pitch and he scored a run, Preston Peglow was hit by a pitch and he scored a run and Derrick Garding scored a run.

The Hawks starting pitcher, Tanner Olean, threw 3 innings, he was their pitcher of record. Steven Pennertz threw 2 innings and Austin Schlangen threw 2 innings. Austin Berg went 2-4, Alex Geslinger went 1-3 and Cain Renner went 1-3. Jeff Haag earned a walk and he was credited for a RBI and Matt Unterberger went 1-3.

SAUK VALLEY LEAGUE

FOLEY LUMBERJACKS 6 CLEAR LAKE LAKERS 3 (5/13/17 @ Clear Laker)

The Lakers actually outhit the Lumberjacks, but they did win their first game of the season and their first league game of 2017. Cameron Jurek started on the hump, he threw 7 innings, he scattered 7 hits, walked two, gave up 3 runs and he recorded 10 big strikeouts. Cameron earned the pitching win for the Lumberjacks, special note he just pitched for the St. John Johnnies in their playoff this past week. Mike Beier closed it, he gave up 2 hits, 2 walks, 1 run and he recorded three strikeouts. Cameron Jurek had a good game at the plate too, he went 2-4 with a double for a RBI and he scored a pair of runs. Rich Rasmussen went 2-4 with a RBI, one stolen base and he scored a pair of runs. Kyle Kipka went 1-3 with a RBI, he earned a walk and he had a stolen base and Ean VonWald went 1-5 and he scored a run. Tyler Long the former Clipper and Cyclone went 1-4 with a triple, he earned a walk and he scored a run. Sam Keeler had a sacrifice fly for a RBI and he earned a walk, Mike Plante earned a walk and Noah Winkelman earned a walk.

The Lakers Mike Smith started on the mound, he threw 4 2/3 innings, he gave up just one hit, 2 runs and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Ryan Paasch threw 1 1/3 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, 4 walks, 3 runs and he recorded a pair of strikeouts. Hunter Mutterer threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, one walk, one run and he recorded a strikeout. Brandon Buesgens threw the final inning in relief, he gave up one hit. Mitch Voigt had a good game, he went 2-5 with a double for 2 RBI's and Noah Vogt went 2-3 and he was hit by a pitch. Cole Gueningsman had a good game, going 3-5 and Matt Korte went 1-2 with a sacrifice bunt. Tyler Carper went 1-2, he earned a pair of walks and he scored two runs and Tyler Maurer earned a walk and he scored a run.


SARTELL STONE PONEYS 17 BECKER BANDITS 7 (7 Innings) (5/14 @ Becker)

The Stone Poneys earned their first Sauk Valley League win in a few years, over the Becker Bandits 17-7, in a 7 inning game. Player/manager Jeff Amann started on the mound for the Stone Poneys, he threw 3 1/3 innings. he gave up 3 hits, 6 runs, 2 walks and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Cody Rose threw 3 2/3 innings of relief to earn the win, he gave up 4 hits, one run, two walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Spencer Timm went 3-3 with three big RBI's and a pair of walks to led the way for the Stone Poneys. Jeff Amann went 1-3 with a big 3 run double for three big RBI's, he walked 3 times and he scored a run. Sean Tillman went 1-4 with a big 2 run home run for 2 RBI's, he walked and he scored three runs. Shawn Lindsay went 1-2 with a RBI, he walked and he scored three runs and Josh Schaefer went 1-4 with two RBI's and he scored a run. Cody Rose went 1-1 with two RBI's, he walked 4 times and he scored a pair of runs. Teddy Fleming was credited with a RBI by way of a fielders choice. Patrick Dolan earned a RBI with a walk and he scored four runs and Matt Maurer earned a pair of walks and he scored a pair of runs.

The Bandits starting pitcher Austin Rasmussen threw 2 1/3 innings, he gave up 2 hits, 3 walks, 5 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Hayden Fassler threw 1 1/3 innings in relief, he was the pitcher of record, he gave up 2 hits, 3 walks and 6 runs. Matt Yoerg threw 1 2/3 innings, he gave 1 hit, 4 walks and he recorded a strikeout. Johnny Manz threw 1 inning, he gave up 3 walks, 4 runs and he had a strikeout. Player/manager Cole Hanson, threw 2 /3 inning, he recorded a strikeout. Connor Rolf went 2-4 with 3 RBI's and Kreeden Bloomquist went 3-4 with a double for 2 RBI's. Matt Yoerg went 1-3 with a RBI, Ryan Sommerdorf went 1-3 and Matt Moe went 1-3.

ELROSA SAINTS 12 ST. MARTIN MARTINS 4 (5/13 @ St. Martin)

The Vogt brothers had a great day, one that their father Ken will not forget for a long time. The game was tied 4-4 after four innings and then the Saints bats took over. Starting pitcher Ethan Vogt threw 4 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 4 runs and he recorded six big strikeouts. Aaron Vogt threw 5 innings of relief to earn the win, Aaron didn't give up a hit, he issued a pair of walks and he recorded nine big strikeouts. The Saints collected 14 hits with Ethan Vogt leading the way, he went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double for a total of six big RBI's, he earned a walk, was hit by a pitch and he scored three runs. Matt Schmitz had a good game, he went 3-6 with two doubles for a RBI and he scored a pair of runs. Cody Eichers went 3-5, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run and Brady Weller went 1-4 with a double for a RBI and he earned a walk. A. J. Hadley had a good game, he went 2-6 with a pair of RBI's and he scored two runs. Kevin Kuefler went 2-6 and Austin Hadley earned a RBI by way of a fielder's choice and he scored a run. Co-player/manager Matt Middendorf was credited with a RBI, earned a pair of walks, was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Aaron Vogt was hit twice by a pitch and he scored a run and Derek Wiener scored a run.

For the Martins, Jaylyn Arceneau started on the mound, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 5 hits, four runs and he issued four walks. Scott Schlangen threw 1 2/3 innings in relief, he gave up 7 hits, eight runs and he recorded a pair of strikeouts, he was the pitcher of record. Kyle Lieser closed it out with 2 1/3 innings of relief, he gave up two hits and he recorded a strikeout. Michael Schlangen led the Martin offense, he went 3-4 with a double for a RBI, a stolen base and he scored a run. Taylor Holthaus went 1-4 with a big two run home run and Scott Schlangen went 1-2 with a double. LAKE HENRY LAKERS 7 FARMING FLAMES 4 (5/14 @ Lake Henry)

The Lakers had very good pitching performances from three of their players, Weston Brinkman started on the mound, he threw 7 innings to earn the win. He gave up just one hit, five walks, one run and he recorded 11 big strikeouts. Jason Kampsen, threw one inning of relief, he gave up 3 hits, two runs and he recorded three strikeouts. Aaron Savelkoul closed it out for the Lakers, he threw the final inning in relief, he gave up 2 hits, one run, one walk and he recorded one strikeout. Jason Kampsen went 2-4 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a pair of runs. Josh Kampsen went 2-4 with a stolen base, he walked and he scored a pair of runs. Aaron Savelkoul went 2-5 with a RBI and he scored a run and Ryan Wuertz went 2-3 with a walk and he scored a run. Shane Kampsen went 1-5 with a double and he scored a run and Weston Brinkman, walked, had a stolen base and he was hit by a pitch. Grand Ludwig had a sacrifice bunt and was credited with a pair of RBI's. Adam Miller earned a pair of walks, Colin Riley earned a pair of walks and Toby Flanagan earned a walk.

For the Flames, Kyle Zierden started on the mound, he threw 4 innings, he was pitcher of record, he gave up five hits and five runs. Brad Mergen threw four innings in relief, he gave one hit, two runs, seven walks and he recorded five strikeouts. Taylor Fourre had a big game, he went 3-4 with a big two run home run for two big RBI's. He had a stolen base, he walked and scored a pair of runs. Nick Mergen went 1-3 with a double, a pair of walks and he scored a run and Craig Mergen went 1-3, with two stolen bases and he scored a run. Mitchell Thelen went 1-5, Eric Schmidt scored a run, Zach Koltes, Brad Mergen and Chris Wehseler all earned a walk.

 

MEIRE GROVE GROVERS 17 GREENWALD CUBS 7 (8 Innings) (5/14 @ MEIRIE GROVE)

The Grovers pounded out 16 hits and they had five players with multi hit games, to give their pitcher some great support. Colton Meyer started on the mound for the Grovers, he threw 3 2/3, he gave up four hits, three runs, six walks and he recorded four strikeouts. Matt Imdieke threw 4 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win, he gave up 7 hits, 4 runs, 5 walks and he record a strikeout. Alex Welle went 3-5 with a double for five big RBI's, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Drake Meyer went 3-3 with a home run for a total 3 RBI's, he walked twice, had two stolen bases and he scored three runs. Jordan Klaphake went 4-5 with three big RBI's, two stolen bases and he scored pair of runs. Tanner Klaphake went 2-4 with a RBI, one walk and he scored three runs. Jaron Klaphake went 1-5 with a RBI, he had a stolen base and he scored a pair of runs. Anthony Welle went 1-4 with a sacrifice bunt, one walk and he scored a pair of runs and Kurt Marthaler went 1-4 with a walk. For the Cubs, Tyler Braegelmann, started on mound and he took the loss, he gave up 6 hits, 6 runs, 7 walks and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Brandon Worms threw 2 1/3 innings for relief, he gave up 8 hits, 9 runs, one walk and he recorded a strikeout. Nick Rademacher, player/manager went 3-4 with a double for a RBI, he walked and he scored a run. Tyler Braegelmann went 2-4 with a pair of RBI's and he scored a run and Kegan Steuve went 1-4 with a RBI and one walk. Adam Van Beck had a big game, he went 4-5 with a double for a RBI and he scored a pair of runs. Mitchell Worms went 1-3 with a pair of walks and he scored a run and Ryan Kraemer had a RBI, a pair of walks, one stolen base and he scored a run. Brandon Worms was hit by a pitch and he earned a walk, Doug Imdieke earned a pair of walks and Cody Imdieke walked twice and he scored a run.

 


SPRING HILL CHARGERS 4 NEW MUNICH SILVERSTREAKS 1 (5/14 @ New Munich)

The Chargers had two big two run homers from Shawn Schoenberg and Nathan Terres for four big runs. That was all the support the Chargers pitchers need, as Jordan Welle started, he went 5 1/3 innings to earn the win. He gave up 5 hits, one run, one walk and he recorded four strikeouts. Austin Schoenberg threw 3 2/3 innings of relief to earn the save, he gave up just 2 hits, 2 walks and he recorded a strikeout. Eric Terres went 1-4, Tyler Reverman went 1-4, Jamie Terres scored a pair of runs, Austin Schoenberg earned a walk, Cain Meyer was hit by a pitch and Jordan Welle had a sacrifice bunt.

The Silverstreaks starting pitcher was left hander Ty Reller, he threw 6 innings, gave up just 4 hits, two runs, four runs and he recorded three strikeouts. Jim Thull threw 2 innings of relief, he retired six in a row. Nick Stangler threw one inning of relief, he recorded a pair of strikeouts. Jon Gaebel went 1-4 with a RBI, Neal Anderson went 2-3 and Ty Reller went 1-3 and he scored their lone run. Will Funk went 1-3 with a walk, Joe Hoppe went 1-1 and Joe Stangler went 1-3. SAINT WENDEL SAINTS 7 SAINT STEPHEN STEVES 2 (5/13 @ St. Wendel)

The Saints had a very good pitching performance by Taylor Erickson, he threw 7 innings. He gave up just 4 hits, 4 walks, one run and he recorded six strikeouts, to earn the win. Max Posch closed it out with 2 innings of relief, he gave up a walk, one run and he recorded one strikeout. The Saints were led by Lee Maciej, he went 2-4 with a big 2 run home run and a total of three RBI's. Keaton Gustin went 1-3 with a three run home run and Jake Braegelmann went 1-5 with a solo home run, he had a stolen base and he scored a pair of runs. John Pogatchnik went 2-3 with a stolen base and he scored a pair of runs. Russ Fellbaum went 1-4, Sam Butler earned a walk, Trevor Brown and Kyle Jarnot were both hit by a pitch.

The Steves starting pitcher Nick Krippner, threw 5 innings, he gave up 6 hits, 7 runs and he recorded six strikeouts, he was the pitcher of record. Isaac Dammen threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 1 hit, 3 walks and he recorded four strikeouts. The Skis pounded out 17 hits including four extra base hits to defeat Victory South League rival Bears in 7 innings. Thomas Miller started on the mound for the Skis, he threw 5 innings to earn the win. He gave up just 4 hits, 3 walks, one run and he recorded six strikeouts. Scott Litchy threw one inning of relief, he gave up a hit, issued one walk and he recorded three strikeouts. Collin Eckman threw the final inning in relief, he gave up 2 hits, one run and he recorded a strikeout. Collin Eckman was one of their offensive leaders, he went 3-5 with a double for three big RBI's, he had a stolen base and he scored a pair of runs. Beau Hanowski went 3-4 with a double for three RBI's, he earned a walk, one stolen base and he scored three runs. Riley Hirsch went 2-2 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored two runs. Dan Marod went 3-4 with a RBI, he walked, one stolen base and he scored a run. Scott Litchy went 1-2 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly for a pair of RBI's, he earned a walk. Tyler Jendro went 1-3 with a pair of RBI's, he walked and he scored a run. Jake Kapphan went 2-5 with 2 RBI's and he scored a run and Austin Weis went 2-4 with a walk, one stolen base and he scored three runs.

The Bears Zack Bialka started on the mound, he threw four innings, he was the pitcher of record. Chris Ortman threw one inning in relief and Ian Hoffarth closed it out with one inning of relief. Jake Klein went 2-3 with a double and Derek Thielen went 1-4 with a double and he scored a run. Isaiah Folsom went 1-3 with a walk and he had a stolen base and Ian Hoffarth went 1-4 with a RBI. Andrew Yamry went 1-1 an Austin Lange went 1-1 with a walk. Peter Schumer and Alex Lange both earned walks.


AVON LAKERS 5 ST. WENDEL SAINTS 1 (5/14 @ Avon)

The Lakers defeated Victory League South rivals the Saints back by the Voit's and the pitching staff of the Lakers. Putter Harlander, started on the mound, he threw 6 innings to earn the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked one, gave up one run and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Jon Bauer threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up a hit and he recorded a strikeout and Adam Harlander threw the final inning in relief, he gave up a hit and he recorded a strikeout. Riley Voit went 1-4 with a double for two big RBI's and Reed Voit had a sacrifice fly for a RBI. Josh Becker had a good game, he went 3-4 and he scored a run and Zac Tomsche went 1-4 with a RBI. Carter Holthaus went 1-3 with a walk and he scored a run and Will Kleinschmidt went 1-4 and he scored a run. Caleb Curry went 1-3 and he scored a run and Cody Stich went 1-4.

The Saints starting pitcher Kyle Jarnot threw five innings, he was the pitcher of record. He gave up 5 hits, he surrendered 3 runs, issued one walk and he record a pair of strikeouts. Sam Butler threw three inning in relief, he gave up 4 hits, two runs, one walk and he recorded three strikeouts. Jake Braegelmann led the Saints offense, he went 2-5 with a double and he scored a run. John Pogatchnik went 2-5 and Max Posch went 2-4 with a stolen base. Lee Maciej went 1-4 with a RBI, Trevor Van Heel went 2-3 with a walk and Sam Butler went 1-4.

 

UPSALA BLUE JAYS 8 FREEPORT BLACK SOX 2 (5/14 @ Upsala)

The Blue Jays defeated the Black Sox back by great day at the park for Paul Krebs and very good pitching performances by a couple of the Blue Jays. Eric Lampert started for the Blue Jays, he threw 6 1/3 innings to earn the win. John Fuchs threw 2 2/3 innings in relief to earn the save, he gave up one hit, two walks and he recorded three strikeouts. Paul Krebs had a very good day, he went 3-3 with a pair of doubles for 2 big RBI's, he earned a pair of walks, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a pair of runs. Dustin Biniek went 2-4 with a stolen base, one walk and he scored a pair of runs. Adam Gerards went 1-3 with a RBI, a pair of walks and he scored a run. John Fuchs went 1-1 with a pair of RBI's and Matt Swanson had a sacrifice fly and was credited with a pair of RBI's. Brock Cichon had a very good day, he went 3-6 and he scored a run, Justin Lampert went 1-3 with a walk and he was hit by a pitch and Ben Burggraff earned a walk.

The Black Sox starting pitcher, Mitch Reller, threw 6 2/3 innings, he was the pitcher of record. He gave up 10 hits, 7 runs, 6 walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Scottie Stone threw 1 1/3 innings, he gave up 3 hits and he walked two. Mitch Waldvogel went 1-3 with a RBI and a walk and Trevor Sawyer went 1-4 with a walk. Troy Frieler went went 1-4 with a walk and Johnny Benson went 1-3 with a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run. Carter Sawyer had sacrifice fly for a RBI, Eric Evaslage earned two walks and Brandon Sawyer earned a pair of walks and he scored a run.

 

OPOLE BEARS 5 FLENSBURG FALCONS 3 (5/14 @ Opole)

The Bears defeated Victory League foe the Falcons in a very well played ball game. Derek Thielen started on the mound for the Bears, he threw 7 innings to earn the win. He scattered 5 hits, one walk, surrendered 3 runs and he recorded 10 big strikeouts. Jake Nelson threw two innings of relief to earn the save, he gave up just one hit and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Austin Lange had a good game, he went 2-3 with 2 big RBI's and he scored a run. Derek Thielen went 1-3 with a RBI and he earned a walk and Isaiah Folsom went 1-3 with a RBI, one walk and he scored a run. Jake Klein went 1-3 with a sacrifice bunt and Alex Lange went 1-3. Player/manager Scott Bienek earned a pair of walks, one stolen base and he scored a run. Ian Hoffarth earned a pair of walks, one stolen base and he scored a run and Brad Heitzman had a sacrifice bunt.

The Falcons Ike Thoma threw a complete game, he gave up 6 hits, 5 walks and he recorded six strikeouts. Ike Thoma had a good game at the plate too, he went 3-4 with 2 RBI's and Andy Marod went 2-4 with a triple and a double for a RBI and he scored a pair of runs. Braden Backowski went 1-3 with a walk and he scored a run, Evan Athman went 1-4 and Dylan Lukasavity went 1-4.

 

SOBIESKI SKIS 17 ST. STEPHEN STEVES 7 (8 innings) (5/14 @ St. Stephen)

There were 26 hits total in this game with the Skis out slugging the Steves in 8 innings. Tyler Jendro started on the mound, he threw 5 2/3 innings to earn the win. He gave up 8 hits, 4 runs, 4 walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Scott Litchy threw 1 1/3 inning in relief, he gave up a hit and he recorded a strikeout. Chris Reller threw the last inning, he gave up 4 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk and he recorded a strikeout. The Skis had five players with multi hit and RBI games. Scott Litchy leading the way, he went 2-4 with two home runs for a total of 5 RBI's, he walked, had a stolen base, and he scored four runs. The Gussies collect 11 hits to help support their pitching staff to win over the Joes from the Sauk Valley League. Dustin Schultzenburg/player/manager for the Gussies started on the mound. He threw 4 innings to earn the win, he gave up 2 hits, 2 walks, 1 run and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Dan Swan threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 4 walks , 1 run and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Nate Laudenbach threw the final two innings to earn the save, he gave up 2 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks and he recorded a strikeout. Four Gussies had multi hit games, Adam Gwost went 2-4 with a double for a RBI and he earned a walk. Aaron Fruth went 2-3 with a RBI, 2 walks, one stolen base and he scored a run. Adam Benoit went 2-3 with a RBI, one walk, one stolen base and he scored a run. Zach Laudenbach went 2-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Marcus Lommel went 1-5 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run. Matt Skaja went 1-4 with a walk and he scored a run and Nate Gwost went 1-3. Both Nate and Michael Laudenbach earned walks.

The Joes were missing several ball players for various reasons, Nathan Mohs started on the mound, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 7 hits, 5 runs, 5 walks and he recorded a strikeout. Nathan was the pitcher of record and Zach Overboe threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 4 hits, 2 walks and he recorded a strikeout. Charles Vaughan went 1-4 with a walk and Hunter Blommer went 1-4 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI. Justin Barg went 1-3, 2 walks, 1 stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Jack Grell went 1-3 with a walk and Willie Willatz earned a pair of walks and he scored a run. Nate Chandler earned a walk and he scored a run, Ben Alvord was hit by a pitch and Zach Overboe earned a walk.


COLD SPRING ROCKIES 11 FARMING FLAMES 4 (5/12/17 @ Farming)

The Rockies put up 5 runs in the 8th and the 9th innings and they collected 15 hits to give their starting pitcher great support. Marshall Wirtzfeld started and threw 7 innings, he scattered 4 hits, issued 5 walks, 3 runs and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Marshall earned his win as an amateur pitcher. Trevor Lardy threw one inning of relief, he gave up a hit, one run and he recorded one strikeout. The Rockies had six players with multi hit games, leading the way was Patrick Hemingson had a great game. Pat went 3-5 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run. Nick Skluzacek went 3-5 with a triple for a RBI and he scored three runs. Austin Dufner went 2-2 with a double, he earned a pair of walks and he scored four runs. Jordan Neu went 2-4 with a pair of RBI's and he earned a walk and Jake Hennen went 2-4 with a home run. David Jonas went 2-4 and he scored a run and Trevor Lardy went 1-5. Andrew Allar had a sacrifice bunt and he earned a walk, Mason Ruegemer earned three walks and Marshal Wirtzfeld earned a walk.

No report was received from the Flames, other than Cody Fourre had a double to drive in two runs. Chad Mergen, Zach Koltes, Aaron Einyck, Nick Mergen and Joel Klein all pitched for the Flames.


BEAUDREAUS SAINTS 4 RICHMOND ROYALS 3 (5/13 @ RICHMOND)

The Beaudreaus Saints in their first game of the season defeated the Royals 4-3. The Saints starting pitcher, Nic Maiers, threw 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, 1 run, 2 walks and he recorded 8 strikeouts. Brad Haag threw 4 innings in relief to earn the win, he gave up 1 hit, 2 walks, 2 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Chad Hockenmeyer went 2-3 with a home run and a double, he walked and he had a stolen base. Jason Kotschevar went 1-3 with a RBI and he earned a walk. Brady Yoerg went 2-3 with a walk and he scored a pair of runs. NIc Maiers went 1-3 with a walk and Tom Imholte went 1-5. Tom Spaniol had a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Nick Hengel earned a walk.

The Rockies Dan Hanson was their starting pitcher, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Luke Jokela threw 2 innings in relief, he was the pitcher of record, he gave up 1 hit, 4 walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Blaine Athmann threw 2 innings in relief, he gave up a hit and he recorded one strikeout. Dusty Adams went 1-3, Adam Backes went 1-4 and D. J. Schleicher went 1-3 and he scored a run. Phil Niemela earned 2 walks and he scored a run, Kenny Mooney earned a pair of walks and he scored a run and Kirby Hemmesch had a sacrifice bunt.

The Springers had a slug fest with the Red Birds in their season opener. Zach Femrite threw 2 innings, Chris Butala threw 2 innings, Justin Thompson threw 2 innings, Chase Aleshire threw 2 innings and Jack Arnold threw a 1, 2, 3 mow them down 9th inning. Joe Demsey went 2-3 with a double for a RBI, he walked, had a stolen base and he scored a run. Drew VanLoy went 2-4 with a RBI, he walked and he scored two runs. Eric Loxtercamp went 2-5 with a stolen base, he was hit by a pitch and he scored 3 runs. Brian Hanson went 1-3 with a walk, he was hit by a pitch and he scored 3 runs. Zach Femrite went 2-5 with 2 RBI's and he scored a run Ryan Holthaus went 1-4 with a RBI and he earned a walk. Alex Jungels went 2-3 and Justin Thompson was credited with a RBI by way of a fielders choice. Zach Hinkemeyer was hit by a pitch and he scored a run, Jake Arnold earned a walk, Brian Olson earned a walk and Tyler Geislinger was hit by a pitch and he had a stolen base.
