The St. Cloud Tech Tigers defeated the Monticello Magic on Thursday night at Joe Faber Field.
The Tigers got on the board first on a 2nd inning RBI double from Ethan Hopper.
The Tigers went up 2-0 in the 4th inning on RBI sacrifice fly off the bat of Austin Nikolas.
The Magic cut the lead to 2-1 in the top of the 5th inning.
In the bottom of the 5th, Tech caught fire scoring 9 runs including Ethan Hopper's 3-run home run. For his efforts, Hopper was named the All-Star Trophy and Awards Player of the Game. The 10 run went into effect and the Tigers came away with a 11-1.
Tigers pitcher Trevor Koenig got the win. He pitched 4 scoreless innings and struck out 5.
With the win, the Tigers improve to 1-0 on the season. They play host to Rocori on Tuesday night.
With the loss. the Magic fall to 0-2 on the year and host Big Lake tomorrow night.
