St. Cloud Tech Cyclones Baseball Report

SCTCC CYCLONES 7 WAUBONSEE COMMUNITY COLLEGE 5 (Orlando) March 11, 2017

The Cyclones freshman, Joey Cutrone, right hander from Fort Lauderdale, Florida started on the mound, he threw 4 innings. He scattered 8 hits, 5 runs, 2 earned runs, 3 walks and he recorded 2 strikeouts. The 6'6'' sophomore from Moorhead, Michael Wiesmann threw 3 innings of relief to earn the win, he gave up just 2 hits, walked one and he recorded 3 strikeouts.

The offense was led by Fabio Espinosa-Gutierrez, a sophomore from Bolivar, Colombia went 2-4 with a home run and a double for 3 big RBI's and he scored a pair of runs. Isaiah Almanza a sophomore from Deming, New Mexico went 2-4 with a double for 2 RBI's and he scored a run. Justin Barreneche a sophomore from Hialeah, Florida went 1-5 with a RBI and he had a stolen base. Zach Fuecker a freshman from Sauk Rapids went 1-3 with a stolen base, he earned a pair of walks and he scored 2 runs. Mitch Kurth a sophomore from Hutchinson went 1-3 with a RBI and Adam Gilsrud a sophomore from Andover went 1-4 with a stolen base and he scored a run. Matt Quade the freshman from Paynesville went 1-2, he walked and he scored a run.

SCTCC CYCLONES 5 NIAGARA COMMUNITY COLLEGE 0 (Orlando) March 12, 2017

The Cylcones 6'3' right hander from Miramar, Florida, Ricardo Garcia stat on the mound and he threw a complete game to earn the win. He gave up just 2 hits, he walked 2 and he recorded 6 strikeouts, to build his record 3-0 on the season.

The Cylcones had six different players collect hits, led by Johnathon Fernandez, the sophomore from Doral, Florida went 1-3 with a 2 big RBI's and a sacrifice bunt. Matt Quade the 6'1" freshman from Paynesville went 1-3 with a RBI and Zach Fuecker the 6'0" lefty from Sauk Rapids went 1-3 with a RBI. Justin Barreneche the right hander from Hialeah, Florida went 1-3 with a double, he was hit by a pitch and he scored 2 runs. Fabio Espinosa-Gutierrez the 6'1" catcher from Bolivar, Colombia went 1-3, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Isaiah Almanza the right hander from Deming, New Mexico went 1-3, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run.


NIAGARA COMMUNITY COLLEGE 13 SCTCC CYCLONES 1 (Orlando) March 12, 2017

The Cyclones were not able to bunch any hits together as they were defeated by Niagara 13-1. Ronnie Ingram was the starting pitcher for the Cyclones and he suffered the loss. One bright spot in the game was by Justin Barreneche he went 1-1 with a home run and Daniel Nieto the freshman from Hialeah, Florida went 2-2. Matt Johnson a freshman from Sauk Rapids went 1-1 and Alex Jenkins, a freshman from Altoona, Wisconsin went 1-1. Jonathon Fernandez a sophomore from Doral, Florida went 1-2 and Carlos Reyes a freshman from Hialeah, Florida went 1-2.

Next up for the Cyclones, their final two games of their spring trip to Orlando, Florida. They are scheduled to play a double hitter with Brookdale Community Community College a 1:30 and 3:30 on Monday March 13th.
