Bob Karn wins number 700

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Thanks to Mother Nature it took an extra day, but Bob Karn won his 700th game as Head Coach of the Cathedral Crusaders.

Cathedral topped Mora 15-0 in a one sided affair on Tuesday. The Crusaders were led by Brindley Thiesen who pitched 5 shutout innings to go along with a 4-4 day at the plate. The win has Cathedral on a hot streak with the state playoffs right around the corner.

As for Karn, his 700 wins have him tied with Lowell Scearcy from Brainerd, which places them 7 wins behind Jim Senske of New Ulm who holds the state record for career wins.

Cathedral was rained out on Monday against second place place Mora, a game that has been reschelded for Wednesday afternoon. With a win, the Crusaders could clinch a Granite Ridge Conference championship. The game will be at 1:30pm at Joe Faber field.

Karn has sent 17 teams to the state tournament and has won 7 titles in his career.
