ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - When it comes to sports springtime should be about basketball, the Masters and the start of baseball. But not here in Central Minnesota. Its not easy living here right now. While people around the country are getting flower beds ready, we are still wondering if flowers even really exist outside of a florist.
While the wait continues, central Minnesota should be worth the wait when it comes to baseball. For instance, did you know that there is a team here in St. Cloud that has won 8 straight games? Or that there is another team that is 21-2 and riding a 14 game winning streak? Could have knocked the snow shoes off you I bet.
The St. Cloud Tech Cyclones are riding the eight game streak, even though the closest they have been to home was a two game sweep over Lakehead University at the Metrodome.
Four ranked in the nation, and number one in the central region, the St. Cloud State Husky baseball team is clearly one of the best ball teams in the nation. You probably have had a hard time following them, considering that they have played games after midnight at the Metrodome this season.
Neither one of these teams have played a single game in the 320 area code, yet they can't be beat.
Heck, I haven't even touched on the Rox, amateur baseball and all of the local high school teams. It may say spring on the calendar, but not outside. When the weather catches up, Central Minnesota better be ready for some great baseball, at home.
