ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Republican gubernatorial candidate Kurt Zellers made a campaign stop in St. Cloud Tuesday night.

The former House Speaker visited with voters at the Red Carpet Martini Lounge.

Zellers says he and his Republican challengers are facing an "uphill battle" to unseat Mark Dayton. A recent Star Tribune Minnesota poll showed Dayton with a 57-percent job approval rating--his highest number since taking office.

But Zellers says that approval rating will come down once tax increases signed into law by Dayton take effect.

Zellers is one of four Republicans who've announced a campaign to try and unseat Dayton. The others are Wayzata businessman Scott Honour, Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson and Lakeville State Senator Dave Thompson.
