ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - The St. Cloud Area YMCA has announced it wants a new aquatics center to be built at Whitney Park.
The "Y" and the city announced this summer they would partner on the 20-million dollar project that will not only include swimming pools, a climbing wall, gymnasiums and fitness space.
St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis has previously said Whitney Park would be a prime location for the project, with good access and available land. The plan still needs city council approval before it can move forward. Council action could occur in November.
