MINNEAPOLIS (KNSI) - Xcel Energy has announced more than $900,000 in grants to non-profit environmental and educational programs in Minnesota.
Funding will benefit customers throughout the utility's service territory. Xcel Energy's grant making is focused in four areas: economic sustainability, education, access to arts and culture, and the environment.
In the current round of grants, 47 programs received $559,000 in funding to support programs for students from kindergarten through college. One local grant was $10,000 dollars made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Minnnesota, based in St. Cloud.
Other local grants include $10,000 dollars to the SCTC Foundation, $10,000 dollars to the St. Cloud State Foundation, and $10,000 dollars to the Central Minnesota Boy Scouts of America in Sartell.
