ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A woman is accused of stealing gold chains worth hundreds of dollars off the necks of children in St. Paul.
Twenty-six-year-old Tria Moua is charged in Ramsey County court with theft and false imprisonment.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Moua appeared in court Monday in connection with an alleged theft that happened Friday. Bail was set at $25,000. She is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday in two similar cases.
Prosecutors say over the past few weeks, Moua approached parents as well as children at three locations in St. Paul and persuaded the children to go with her, often in her van. In each case, the child was missing jewelry after being returned by Moua.
No children reported being harmed.
Moua remained in jail Monday evening.
