ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for central Minnesota, including the St. Cloud area, from 6 pm Monday through 3 pm Tuesday.

A clipper system will bring snowfall accumulations from 2 to 4 inches to parts of central and southern Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin Monday night into early Tuesday, with blowing snow persisting into Tuesday afternoon.

The Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for areas generally along and south of Interstate 94.

National Weather Service forecaster Jacob Beitlich says snow will begin accumulating by early Monday night and persist into Tuesday morning.

Northwest winds will increase to between 25 and 35 miles per hour with gusts to 40 miles per hour after midnight, and persist through the day Tuesday.

The main impacts from this clipper system will be blowing and drifting snow with signficantly reduced visibilities.
