ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A Winter Weather Advisory was issued by the National Weather Service late Saturday as the a storm system moving through the St. Cloud area early Sunday was expected to leave 1 to 3 inches of new snow.
The advisory for portions of central Minnesota remains in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday.

The best chance of accumulating snow from the system was expected to be near or north of a line from Morris to St. Cloud to Mora. Snowfall amounts in St. Cloud were anticipated at between 1 and 3 inches while areas like Alexandria, Little Falls and Mora were expected to receive 3 to 4 inches, the NWS reported.
Snowfall rates of a half to 1 inch of snow per hour were possible during the height of the storm Sunday morning into the afternoon before tapering off Sunday evening.
