ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) It looks like Minnesota will get a blast of winter weather this week.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Tuesday afternoon through late Tuesday night.
It does not include St. Cloud, but does include areas just to our southeast including Sherburne County and the Twin Cities metro area.
Forecasters say a low pressure system will track into the area, with widespread moderate to heavy precipitation forming. Temperatures will cool Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night, allowing for rain to transition to snow. Four to six inches, with locally higher amounts of seven inches are possible by Wednesday morning.
Those amounts are subject to change based on the track of the system and how temperatures fall tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night.
Some cities in the Winter Storm Watch include Elk River, Mora, Cambridge, Hutchinson and Minneapolis-St. Paul.
