ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for southeastern Minnesota from 9 am Sunday until midnight.

Freezing rain will spread into southern Minnesota Sunday morning and and then lift northeast across east-central Minnesota during the late morning and early afternoon hours.

The freezing rain will eventually mix with and change to snow during the late afternoon and evening hours.

Ice accumulations of around a quarter inch followed by two inches of snow can be expected.

Cities in the Winter Storm Warning include Owatonna, Waseca, Red Wing, Blue Earth and Albert Lea.

The Twin Cities metro area is in a Winter Weather Advisory until midnight.
