ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) The arrival of November means Thanksgiving will be here before you know it, and it also means winter parking restrictions take effect in cities in the greater St. Cloud area.
In St. Cloud, odd-even parking restrictions are in place from 1:00 am to 7:00 am. That means on odd numbered dates, vehicles can park only on the side of the street with even-numbered addresses, and vice versa.
If the city declares a snow emergency, all vehicles need to be removed from streets immediately, and sidewalks should be shoveled within 24 hours of any one inch snow.
Street parking is not allowed in Sauk Rapids between 2:00 am and 7:00 am from November to April. The same holds true in Waite Park--no street parking between 2:00 and 7:00. In Sartell, there's no street parking between 1:00 and 7:00.
Last winter, St. Cloud had its fourth-snowiest winter on record--with 78.5 inches of snow, including a record 24.4 inches in April.
There was already had a touch of winter in St. Cloud in October, with 0.8 of an inch of snow recorded.
