ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for much of Minnesota.

It goes into effect at midnight tonight and runs through noon Friday. It includes the St. Cloud area.

A surge of arctic air will spread across the region throughout the day today. By tonight, sub-zero temperatures and brisk northwest winds will combine to create wind chill values of 25 below to 35 below zero.

A secondary blast of cold air will stream down Thursday. Dangerous wind chill values of 25 below to 35 below zero will continue across Minnesota.

Warmer temperatures and lighter winds will return by Friday afternoon.
