ST. PAUL, Minn. (KNSI) The Minnesota Board of Medical Practice has disciplined a Willmar doctor for two failed eyelid surgeries on the same patient.
Doctor Martin Janning is required to complete a pre-approved course in oculoplastic surgery within the next nine months, and observe a minimum five surgeries by a pre-approved physician and write a report of what he has learned and how it will be implemented at his practice.
The patient in this case had complications resulting from a second failed surgery by Janning, and had a third eyelid surgery done by a different doctor to correct the complications. That surgery included extensive repair and skin grafting on the patient's lower eyelid.
Janning has been licensed in Minnesota since 1997 and runs a private practice in Willmar.
