ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Stearns County has been seeing vigorous, widespread flu activity for the past several weeks.
That's according to Public Health Division Director Renee Frauendienst.
In October, the first case of influenza was confirmed by the Minnesota Department of Health, which was a very early start to the flu season. Typically the first cases aren't seen until around Thanksgiving or early December.
Frauendienst says people are still being encourged to get vaccinated. She says while a flu shot doesn't offer perfect protection, it's still the best option for preventing influenza and its complications.
