ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - Downtown St. Cloud will be the place to be tonight as the Downtown Council transforms the area into an urban playground. The downtown walkabout happens tonight from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the event is free and open to the public.
Attendees will be able to spend their evening on the streets participating in various events from the active to the educational.
"We have about 30 some physical activities for people of all ages," Peg Gustafson of the Downtown Council said. "We have defibrillator training, zoomba, trampolines with the bungee cords, rock walls...all those types of things."
Organizers hope the events entice you to get out of your vehicle more often and are hoping to attract more pedestrians and bikers. Gustafson says the focus of the night expands even further than the downtown core.
"Come on down, park in the ramp and walk around and there are also things at Lake George," Gustavson said. "Lake George is part of downtown so they can walk between, park there and do some things then come to the core of downtown and do some things here."
The downtown walk about will be closing the roads along West St. Germain near the courthouse, parking is free and suggested in the ramps.
