WAITE PARK, Minn. (KNSI) A man has been arrested following a strong-armed robbery in Waite Park. Police Chief David Bentrud says it happened Sunday night, just after 8 pm at Eighth Avenue and Second Street North.

The victim told police the suspect got out of the passenger side of a car, and punched the victim several times, knocking him to the ground.

The suspect took cash from the victim's wallet before fleeing.

Bentrud says the victim was an acquaintance of the suspect burt knew him only by a street name. Further investigation determined the full name of the suspect and an "Attempt to Locate" was issued to neighboring police agencies.

Bentrud says they arrested 20 year-old Rashawn Devon McBridge on charges of robbery and third-degree assault. He's being held in the Stearns County Jail.
