ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - If you'd like to help clean up a stretch of the Mississippi River, Saturday is your chance.
Volunteers will clean up a two mile stretch of shoreline from the rapids at Sauk Rapids to the St. Cloud dam. People are encouraged to bring their boats if they own one, or they'll be available for rent for those interested.
Cleanup organizer Patty Tollefson of St. Cloud says volunteers will gather at the Wilson Park boat landing at 1 p.m. and work until 3 p.m. Tollefson says some of the garbage that's collected will be used to make a sculpture by artists from the Paramount Theater Visual Arts Center. It will be displayed at the Downtown Art Crawl next month.
