Veterans Drive closed Wednesday night for West Metro work

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Drivers along St. Cloud's Veterans Drive can expect detours during the overnight hours Wednesday evening as workers complete a vital component of the West Metro Corridor project, according to Stearns County officials.

A portion of Veterans Drive between Ridgewood Road-County Road 134 and County Road 138-54th Avenue was expected to close at 7 p.m. Wednesday as crews worked to finish connecting a final storm sewer across eastbound Veterans Drive.

The roadway was expected to remain closed until 7 a.m. Thursday. Detours were expected to be posted to route motorists around the affected areas.

In the event of rain, the closure could be moved back to begin Thursday night instead.
