SARTELL, Minn. (KNSI) More than sixty fire departments that are seeking reimbursement for their costs associated with fighting the Verso paper mill fire in Sartell in May are about to get their money.
Sartell City Administrator Patti Gartland says Verso sent the city a check for $398,000.
Sartell will get $116,000 of that amount. The rest will be split up between other agencies who submitted invoices to the city.
Billing amounts range from a low of $71 to a high of $43,000 by the city of St. Cloud.
The fire at the mill burned for days, causing millions of dollars in damage.
Verso officials announced in August the mill would not re-open.
