SARTELL, Minn. (KNSI) - The former Verso Paper Mill in Sartell has been officially sold - though what it's going to become is still a mystery.
Sartell Administrator Patti Gartland tells KNSI she and her office were informed of the transaction between Verso and a company called AIM Development earlier this afternoon - but were not given any more information than that.
According to the Office of the Secretary of State, AIM did file Minnesota new business paperwork yesterday.
The two year old company is registered as based out of Wilmington, Delaware, but neither KNSI News nor the city of Sartell were given contact information.
Gartland says she's curious if the company is in fact based overseas, and has only recently filed paperwork to establish an American presence.
According to the Better Business Bureau's Dan Hendrickson, AIM Development is not listed in their directory.
The former Verso plant has been unused since the Memorial Day fire and explosion in 2012 that killed one worker and injured several others.
