WILLMAR, Minn. (KNSI) - The death of a Willmar woman has been officially deemed a homicide.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office says the body of 79 year-old Lila Warwick was discovered in her home on the 3000 block of Hwy. 12, just outside the Willmar city limits, on Monday around 5 p.m.

Deputies were originally called to the home to perform a welfare check on Warwick, but after an investigation with the help of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension's mobile crime lab, they determined she had been killed.

No details have been released on exact nature of Warwick's death, and no arrests have been made.

Officials say they're now investigating several pieces of information given to them so far in the investigation.

Warwick was reportedly retired, lived alone and helped with office duties and vacation Bible school at Redeemer Lutheran church.

Anyone with knowledge of this crime is asked to call the Kandiyohi County Sheriff at 320-235-1260.
