MAPLE LAKE, Minn. (KNSI) - MnDOT says State highway 55 near Maple Lake has reopened after a fatal crash closed a portion of it earlier today.
The State Patrol says the crash, which happened at 10:10 on Tuesday, involved four vehicles and killed two people.
According to the report, two of the vehicles were heading west down Highway 55. The lead car was then rear-ended by the one behind it, pushing it onto Dempsey Avenue.
That car then collided head-on with a third vehicle before spinning and crashing into a fourth.
Both directions of the roadway were shut down near Dempsey Avenue after the crash.
No names have been released.
The State Patrol was assisted by the Maple Lake Fire Department, the Wright County Sheriff's Office and Allina Ambulance.
