PIERZ, Minn (KNSI) - A man wanted by authorities in McLeod County on felony charges for neglecting a child has been found and taken into custody.
Chief Sheriff's Deputy Troy Heck says a citizen reported a person matching the description of 26 year-old Nicholas Kopf of Glencoe around 8:15 p.m. on Highway 25 outside of Pierz.
Morrison County Deputies responded to the tip and located Kopf. He was taken into custody without incident.
Initially, officers were called to check on a suspicious vehicle in Mayhew Lake Township on Monday afternoon.
The unoccupied car was parked in a swampy area of a field, and was registered under Kopf's name.
Heck says, in addition to the felony neglect warrant, Kopf had developed anti-government and anti-law enforcement beliefs, which led authorities to consider him a dangerous individual.
Kopf is currently being held in the Morrison County Jail.
