ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Jon Ruis is the new CEO of the United Way of Central Minnesota.
Ruis is a senior development officer at St. John's University with more than 15 years experience in fund-raising and nonprofit community service, according to the United Way.
"We are excited by the vision and energy we know Jon will bring to United Way," said Ed Laubach, board chairperson for the UWCM. "We have a strong United Way with an important mission, and Jon will build on our tradition of positive leadership in the community."
Betty Schnettler, vice president of community impact for the United Way, and Kathy Zenzen, vice president of operations and resources, led the organization while a search committee looked for a replacement for the previous executive director, Patrick Powell. He left the position in April.
"I am absolutely delighted to accept the role of CEO of United Way of Central Minnesota," Ruis said. "This organization is such a strong community asset and I look forward to working with the community partners, board and staff to further the United Way's mission."
Ruis will begin work October 11th.
