ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Two men arrested after a high speed chase last weekend have been charged in Stearns County District Court.
Twenty year-old Jacob Whalen of Long Prairie and 20 year-old Keith Kern of Swanville were arrested after the Stearns County Sheriff's Office received a call from someone who said the occupants of a brown suburban were firing gunshots from the vehicle. It happened just south of Holdingford.
Whalen and Kern were arrested following a chase through a corn field and on dirt roads that reached speeds of up to 100 miles an hour.
The gunshots came following a fight at a party late Friday night.
Kern is accused of waving a shotgun-style sawed-off BB gun and firing it at another vehicle, and Whalen is alleged to have been the driver who led deputies on the chase.
Kern is charged with second-degree assault. Whalen is accused of fleeing in a motor vehicle and illegally possessing a firearm.
