ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - The St. Cloud YMCA picked up two large donations to move them another step closer to building a new 93-thousand square foot aquatics and community center in St. Cloud.
1.5 million came from Scheels while another 1 million came from the Morgan Family Foundation. The donation from the Morgan Family Foundation represents the largest ever donated by the group in this area.
The two landmark donations bring the total raised to 13 million dollars. YMCA Executive Director Greg Gack says they hope that pace of donations continues The City of St. Cloud had already chipped in 10 million while Boser Contruction and Marco also made large contributions.
Construction on the new facility is slated to begin next to Whitney Park next year.
