ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (KNSI) Two young children are dead after the car a woman was driving plunged into a holding pond at the intersection of Highways 7 and 100 in St.Louis Park Thursday morning.

Authorities say five year-old Zenavia Rennie and seven year-old Alarious Coleman-Guerrido died after being taken to Twin Cities hospitals.

Three other children were also trapped in the car. They remain hospitalized. The driver--23 year-old Marion Guerrido of Brooklyn Center, was able to escape on her own.

Authorities are still trying to piece together what caused the car to leave the road and go into the pond. Roads were not icy, and the State Patrol says alcohol does not appear to be involved.

The children attended Odyssey Academy in Brooklyn Center. Grief counselors will be on hand today helping fellow students cope with the tragedy.
