UNDATED (KNSI) Two people were injured Wednesday morning when the vehicle they were in crashed into a deer, and then the animal came through the windshield, striking both occupants.

The State Patrol says it happened just after 10:30 am at mile-marker 234 on Interstate 35 in Carlton County.

The vehicle driven by 46 year-old Alison Price-Newman of Burnsville was northbound at the time. She suffered non life-threatening injuries.

A male passenger--20 year-old Muhammad Bajwa--had serious injuries and was taken to Essentia Hospital in Duluth.
