BELGRADE, Minn. (KNSI)  A golf cart crash near Belgrade sent two people to the hospital Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened a little after three at 1934 Colfax Road Northeast.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says 36 year-old Timothy Schoumaker of St. Cloud was driving the golf cart when a mechanical malfunction caused him to lose control. The golf cart when into the ditch where it rolled.

Schoumaker and a passenger--30 year-old Krista Lee Schroendeman of St. Cloud were thrown off the golf cart and taken to Paynesville Area Health Care System for medical treatment. Their conditions are unknown.

Belgrade Fire and Rescue and Paynesville Ambulance assisted sheriff's deputies on the call.
