ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) – A 17 year-old boy from Clear Lake who crashed head-on into another vehicle Monday night in St. Cloud has died from his injuries, according to St. Cloud police.

Authorities are still trying to determine exactly what caused the crash that killed Joseph Matthew Kuntz. The accident occurred just before 6 p.m. in the 26-hundred block of Third Street North.

When police and ambulance personnel arrived, they found Kuntz pinned underneath his truck on the passenger side. He was carefully removed from the wreckage and taken to St. Cloud Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The other driver, 26 year-old Amanda Binkley of Royalton, had only minor injuries.

Police shut down the roadway around the crash site for a couple of hours last night as the State Patrol was on the scene to reconstruct the accident.
