ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Two people were arrested and taken to the Stearns County Jail following a burglary and assault in St. Cloud.

It happened in the 1400 block of 10th Avenue North. Police arrested 31 year-old Johnny Johnson of Brooklyn  Park and 30 year-old Ashley Gilmore of Duluth.

The victim--a 33 year-old St. Cloud resident--had property stolen from him after the suspects forced their way into his residence. A 58 year-old St. Cloud man was assaulted during the burglary.

Through their investigation, officers caught up with Johnson and Gilmore near the Grandstay Hotel in the 200-block of 6th Avenue South in St. Cloud. They were booked into jail on charges of first-degree burglary, aggravated robbery and second-degree assault.
