Twins sign pair to minor league deals

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KNSI) The Minnesota Twins have signed a pair of players to minor league contracts with invitations to Major League Spring Training.
They signed right-handed pitcher Tim Wood, who saved 21 games for Triple-A Indianapolis last season. The 29 year-old Wood has made 57 big league appearances with the Marlins and Pirates.
The Twins also signed catcher Eric Fryer, who played in six games for the Pirates last season. He also hit .204 with Triple-A Indianapolis, with no homers and 10 RBIs in 65 games. Fryer is 27 years old, and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 10th round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft.
