DULUTH, Minn. (KNSI) A Duluth television station is dropping an ad from the DFL Party for claiming that Republican Congressman Chip Cravaack no longer lives in Minnesota.
WDIO TV sales director Debra Messer said the station pulled the ad Tuesday after Cravaack's campaign objected.
Cravaack campaign manager Sheldon Anderson called the ad "misleading" and "defamatory" in a letter to the station.
The DFL ad shows a steelworker saying, "He doesn't even live in Minnesota anymore."
Cravaack is facing a tough challenge in the northeastern 8th District from Democrat Rick Nolan, who also says in his latest ad that Cravaack "doesn't live here anymore."
Cravaack lives in North Branch.
