Tuesday Pursuit Ends with DUI Arrest

ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - A Sauk Rapids man is behind bars facing DUI charges among others after he tried to get away from pursing St. Cloud police units.
Cops say 53 year old William Diederich of Sauk Rapids wouldn't stop for officers, instead, he led police on a short pursuit. It all started just before 11:00 p.m. Tuesday along the 1000 block of East St. Germain Street. Diederich gave up a few minutes later and police took him into custody.
After being treated for minor injuries, he was taken to the Benton County Jail on a host of charges, including felony evading police, DUI, driving on a cancelled license, running a stop sign and driving without license plates on his vehicle.
