MELROSE, Minn. (KNSI) A central Minnesota State Trooper is back on the road after his patrol SUV was slammed into on Interstate 94 near Melrose Tuesday.

Sgt. Jesse Grabow says he was helping a driver who had struck a median cable when another motorist slammed into him, traveling at least 70 miles-per-hour.

He had just gotten into his car and shut the door to check a license when he's vehicle was struck.

Grabow says he is a bit sore but otherwise okay. He says the outcome may have been much worse had he still been outside his squad.
