ST. PAUL, Minn. (KNSI) The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says traffic deaths on the state's highways have now exceeded 100 for the year.

That mark was reached when two people were killed in a motorcycle crash last weekend in Alexandria. Of the 102 traffic deaths to date this year, 31 of the victims were not wearing seat belts. Last year at this time, there were 99 traffic fatalities.

Minnesota is now in the midst of a "Click It Or Ticket" seat belt enforcement campaign.

Nearly 400 law enforcement agencies are adding extra patrols during the campaign, which runs through June first.
