ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - The Central Minnesota Builders Association holds their 2012 Fall Tour of Homes beginning today. This year marks the 40th year for the Tour.
Twenty-three new homes are on this year's Tour, along with five remodeled homes. It's no secret that the last few years have been challenging for homebuilders, given the slow economy and downturn in the housing market. Association director Bonnie Moeller says builders in this area have had to weather the storm so to speak.
"A lot have diversified into maybe commercial and remodeling, but I am hearing things are picking up and they are busy," Moeller said.
The slow economy has forced some builders to pare down their staff Moeller said.
The tour, featuring homes in 6 different areas throughout St. Cloud, will also give people the chance to take free housing seminars. for all the information visit this year's tour check out the association website.
